Speaker Bio

Alex Gibney is an Oscar, Emmy and Grammy award-winning director, writer and producer. He is the founder of the innovative, independent production company Jigsaw Productions. His achievements include the 2008 Oscar-winning film Taxi to the Dark Side, which examines the controversial death of Dilawar, an Afghan taxi driver at Bagram Air Base. He also produced one of the topgrossing documentaries of all time, the 2006 Oscar-nominated film, Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room, and the upcoming Magnolia Pictures release, Gonzo: The Life and Work of Dr. Hunter S. Thompson, featuring Johnny Depp. Gibney is well known for crafting stories that take an unflinching look at the political landscape of America. He is a regular contributor to The Huffington Post and has written for Newsweek, The Los Angeles Times, The New Republic, The Wilson Quarterly, and the San Francisco Chronicle.
