Speaker Bio

Jim Miller is a graduate of Ithaca College who moved from New York City to Los Angeles over 20 years ago. Upon arriving in L.A. his first job was as a Universal Tour Guide. Sometimes, when the moon is full he can be heard reciting the tour in his sleep. After a series of production jobs on films such as Bull Durham and Wanted: Dead or Alive and a few Madonna music videos, Miller took a job with the indie film company, The Shooting Gallery, which made Sling Blade and You Can Count on Me. After a brief stint working for Hugh Hefner at Playboy, Miller segued to the National Breast Cancer Coalition where he produced star-studded benefits titled ‘Les Girls' which raised millions of dollars for the nonprofit. He then tricked Robert Greenwald into hiring him for a part-time position at his newly formed Brave New Foundation where he worked his way up to become the Executive Director two years ago.
