Speaker Bio

Recently honored by the Council of Foundations with the Distinguished Grantmaker of the year award, Robert K. Ross, M.D. is President and Chief Executive Officer for The California Endowment, a private foundation created to benefit the health and well-being of the people of California. Ross' vast expertise in public health stems from a range of experience, including: Director of Health and Human Services Agency for the County of San Diego, Commissioner for Philadelphia's Department of Public Health, Medical Director for LINK School-Based Clinic Program in New Jersey, Instructor of Clinical Medicine for Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, and faculty member at San Diego State University's School of Public Health. Ross has also served as a member of the National Vaccine Advisory Committee, the President's Summit for America's Future, and on the boards of the National Marrow Donor Program, San Diego United Way, the Jackie Robinson YMCA, and the National Boost for Kids Initiative. Ross is also a Diplomat of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
