Shivon Robinsong co-founded Hollyhock, Canada's leading educational retreat centre, in 1982. She was centrally involved in its programming and administration until 1990 and continues to serve on Hollyhock's Board of Directors. As a core faculty member of Hollyhock Leadership Institute since 1997, she works with environmental leaders, helping them build harmony, strength and community through song. Robinsong believes everyone can sing, and that singing together in harmony is our birthright. She shares this passion as founder and co-director of the Gettin' Higher' Choir, a 300-voice non-audition, socially engaged community choir in Victoria, British Colombia. Using the model of this choir, she co-leads a Community Choir Leadership Training and an emerging network of similar choirs throughout North America. As a workshop leader and musical animator of conferences in Canada, the U.S., and Europe, Robinsong has helped thousands of people reconnect with their voices and experience how singing together creates empowered, harmonious community.
What is your momentum? Song. It's fun! It's invigorating! It builds health and resilience, individually and collectively. It teaches us how to live and work in harmony. What a medicine!
