

Strongly committed to improving the local community's low income neighborhoods, Tom Steyer is co-founder and chair of the Board of OneCalifornia Bank, an innovative Oakland-based company which seeks to improve the economic opportunity of low income communities by providing banking services to nonprofit organizations, community facilities, affordable housing, and individuals and families, and by using profits to support its affiliate, charitable Foundation. For the past two decades, Tom has engaged at a senior management level with San Francisco firms. He is partner and member of the executive committee of Hellman & Friedman, LLC, a $8.4 billion private equity firm, and co-senior managing member and founder of Farallon Capital Management, LLC, where he is responsible for a greater than $30 billion fund for a client portfolio primarily composed of college endowments and foundations. Tom has also worked at Goldman Sachs & Company, Morgan Stanley & Company, and for the Mondale Presidential Campaign.
