In 2004, we saw a nation divided against itself, legislating discrimination across the country and stifling the voices of many. But we also saw unprecedented successes in cross-issue alliances and new organizing technologies, greater-than-ever contributions to civic participation, and record voter turnout. And we saw new and growing unity among activists working for fairness and freedom.
The question for Momentum 2005 was:
How do we use this complex moment?
At Momentum 2005, donors from ten progressive networks and key actors in the social justice movement came together to engage in critical conversations about the evolution of social change, taking charge to define the future of the progressive movement.
Conference sponsors Tides, Threshold Foundation, and Resource Generation thank all the donors and activists who attended Momentum 2005 and made it a striking success.
Make Change Donor GuideIn order to build on this momentum, Tides has crafted Make Change Donor Guide: Supporting the Evolution of Social Change a donor guide which explores approaches for supporting a broader, stronger, more successful progressive movement.
